Rider John Newton's comments

First of all, I was surprised to see that the condition of the bikes was well above the norm. Major cred given to the 02 model with the radially mounted brakes. First impressions were that the 02 model's powerband seemed broader than the 00, with pickup much lower in the band. After some fettling, we managed to find a similar tune for both bikes, so that I could hardly separate the two.
Suspension settings seemed much too stiff on both bikes for the faster bumps at turn 1 and 2, so after some softer settings were tried, I was able to carry much more speed through that part of the track. Everything else seemed to work well, holding a line on throttle well. After gearing was sorted, I wish I had another day just to see what lap times I could produce on new tyres, as I'm sure these bikes are on the pace straight away.
So, a good day was had by all, and now the bikes are ready to start the season.
